Earlier this month, Kenton County Business Services launched the Filing Wizard, an online step-by-step tool to help businesses file and pay their annual return.
“Our goal was to make it easier to do business in Kenton County,” said Kenton County Judge/Executive Kris Knochelmann. “With multiple cities and multiple tax rates, we needed something that helped businesses of all sizes. The Filing Wizard is the first step towards modern and intuitive annual filing.”
Kenton County is the collecting agent for all cities, with the exception of the City of Covington. Many cities have different rates, fee types, maximums and minimums which can complicate the filing process. The Filing Wizard uses questions based off the business’s federal tax returns to simplify the filing process for anyone doing business in Kenton County.
Businesses still have the option of the traditional paper or standard online filing methods. Other available online services include filing quarterly payroll withholding or annual returns, registering a new business, and renewing a business license. Businesses have the option to pay their returns with either a credit card, EFT, or paper check.
“We invite businesses to utilize this new tool and provide feedback so we can continue to make improvements,” said Knochelmann.
