Save the date: Kenton County's 2024 Spring Clean-Up

Kenton County Public Works and its office of Solid Waste Management will offer their annual Spring Clean-Up for Kenton County residents on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13. Proof of residency is required.

Residents will have access to two drop-off locations to bring their discarded items, including: 

  • Appliances (There is a $25 fee for Freon containing appliances.)   
  • Furniture 
  • Yard debris
  • All Electronics (anything with a power cord, (1) TV per vehicle)
  • Vehicle and rechargeable batteries 
  • 20lb. propane (grill tank) 
  • All fluids (Oil/Gas) MUST be removed from lawn equipment.  
  • Scrap metal
  • Tires are accepted (10 max) per residential address

Items NOT accepted at this event include:

  • Hazardous materials
  • Pesticides
  • Paint/Stains
  • Liquid waste
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Tanks/cylinders
  • Oil and antifreeze
  • Fluorescent Bulbs
  • Shingles
  • Concrete, Brick, or Dirt.  
  • Junk vehicles (including boats) 

This year's drop-off locations are:

  • Kenton County Public Works, located at 420 Independence Station Road, Independence 41051
    • Tires and appliances are accepted here.
    • Hours:
      • April 12: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
        • April 13: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Piner Elementary, located at 2845 Piner Ridge Road, Morning View 41063
    • Tires and appliances are NOT accepted here.
    • Hours:
      • April 12: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
      • April 13: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
