News Posted on March 26, 2026

Get ready to soak up the sunshine. Kenton County Parks & Recreation is rolling out a summer calendar packed with returning favorites, fresh experiences and plenty of reasons to get outside and play.

Back by popular demand, Wild Wednesdays return to bring hands-on nature adventures for kids and families, while Art in the Park invites creativity to bloom in the great outdoors. For all the curious minds out there, Almost Every Other Thursday Science is leveling up and now happening every week all summer long. That means more experiments, more discovery and more fun.

New this year, Kenton County Parks is partnering with the City of Independence to debut Wine Down Wednesdays, a laid-back midweek series perfect for unwinding with friends. Mark your calendars for May 27 and August 26, when the Farmers Market Pavilion on the Historic Kenton County Courthouse Campus in Independence comes alive with live music, food trucks and a relaxed community vibe.

Whether you are exploring nature, getting creative, learning something new or just kicking back with a glass in hand, there is something for everyone this summer in Kenton County.

The County park system includes seven parks, totaling nearly 725 acres of green space. Events will be hosted throughout the park system.

More details on these events and additional summer favorites will be shared soon on the Kenton County Parks and Recreation Facebook page and the County’s website. NOTE: For a PDF version, click here.
